Cape Romain

I went down to Mt Pleasant 14 days ago to take my dog for surgery. At first they thought it was cancer, but as the tests revealed, he only has a saliva gland problem. I was going to crash at my friends house, and he didn't get off of work until 5, so I had almost 8 hours to kill by myself. After I dropped off Samson I headed North on Highway 17 and found a little outpost called Sewee Outpost. I found out from some shrimpers that there was a pier not to far away so I bought some bait and headed out. I didn't have the right rod and reel combo to do much of anything, a light weight rig, but I didn't stop me from going out there and just having some me time. I befriended an older Gullah woman, whose voice reminded me of all the culture that surrounds Charleston. She goes out there everyday and hunts for fish and crab. The wind conditions were horrible, but all in all it was a good day. I got to take in the sights, met some people walking up and down the pier, listen to some Band of Horses on the I-Pod...and in the end I caught 2 crabs and 1 spot tail. What a day...
